How many face masks did the Australian Government order?

I heard they purchased/ordered a huge amount of facemasks to help beat the swine flu. I've heard people ask what they're going to do with them all.





Do you know how many they ordered?How many face masks did the Australian Government order?
I work in a respiratory ward. When we had the SARS scare boxes and boxes of masks went ';walking'; and when we first heard of the swine flue the same thing started to happen. Now all the masks are kept under lock and key by the boss, and the few boxes left out are numbered. I didn't hear about the government ordering masks but it was a concern during SARS that we would run out and that there was a world wide shortage.
