Can I use an airsoft mask while playing paintball? Is there any specifications for paintball masks?

I really want to know more because there is a mask for airsoft that fully protects my face but it has wire mesh in place for the eyes. I was wondering if I would be able to use this mask playing paintball as long as I put a pair of goggles over my eyes or if it would be alright for me to just play like it is.Can I use an airsoft mask while playing paintball? Absolutely it matters.

The money you save on a paintball mask is not going to be near as much as you could end up spending on medical bills and a glass eye.

There is no safe substitute for using a paintball mask in paintball.

And yes, there are standards. The paintball industry came together and worked with ASTM International (an international standards organization) and produced the ASTM F1776-99a.

When selecting a paintball goggle/mask system, check the packaging, it should say on it somewhere that it meets the ASTM F1776-99a standard. Better yet, it should say it has been independently tested and proven to meet that standard.

Anything less, and you are literally gambling your eyes.

It's also a very good idea to shop for a paintball mask in a paintball store, as opposed to mail order. The reason is, everyone's head is shaped differently, and the brand/model that is someone else's favorite won't necessarily fit you best. Shopping in a store where you can try it on may cost a little more (usually not far off from mail order by the time you add in shipping) but it's the best way to ensure a proper, comfortable fit.Can I use an airsoft mask while playing paintball? NO, do not play paintball with a cheap mock up (no offense) in place of approved face gear. Not only does a real paintball mask offer full face protection from PAINTBALLS, not airsoft, (some offer full head protection), but the EYE protection IS different than just a regular pair of goggles. It is much safer to just go out to your local walmart,***** sporting goods, paintball dealer, etc, and buy a cheap 25-50$ mask than risk possible blindness by using improper facewear
Dont even think about doing that again. Save your eyesight and get a painball mask...YOUR EYESIGHT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! If your looking for a mask with full face protection, i would reccomend this one: http://www.actionvillage.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=zYRG_BDpnLZG9lguwfeGVBpPBM4GyCRp97Y=?ProductSKU=020-164-0009

It doesnt matter if you spend 10 dollars or 100 dollars (granted, the quality and comfort may differ)....for protecting your eyesight, it can never cost too much....please remember that. Play Safe
I dont think so. i would just buy a paintball mask
